June 5th is National Hot Air Balloon Day, and what better way to celebrate than to recognize one of the most famous balloons of all: The RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon!

The RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon is one of the most recognized corporate symbols in the world, representing the “Above the Crowd” service and expertise of RE/MAX agents in more than 100 countries and territories. How did the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon come to be? How tall is the balloon? Find out with these fast facts.

  • With more than 120 total balloons across 26 countries on six continents, The RE/MAX fleet is one of the largest in the world.
  • An average RE/MAX Balloon stands 70 feet tall (the height of a seven-story building) and is 57 feet in diameter. The volume of balloon envelopes is anywhere from 42,000 cubic feet to 90,000 cubic feet.
  • In October 1978, the first RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon flew at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Soon after, it was adopted as the company’s logo.
  • The word “RE/MAX” on the balloon features blue letters and a red slash because red letters on a white background are difficult to see from the ground. Red letters with a blue slash are the colors of the RE/MAX logo.
  • In logo form, the RE/MAX balloon appears on millions of business cards, advertisements, websites, cars, busses yard signs and more.
  • In August 2017, RE/MAX updated the brand imagery for the first time in over 40 years. The balloon, of course, is still the star. This brand evolution took two years and included input from more than 20,000 consumers. The new look is brighter, more modern and more attractive to new generations of homebuyers and sellers.

The RE/MAX Balloon is virtually everywhere, and when people see it, they think of the local RE/MAX agents they know. The next time you see the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon, give me a shout to make your homebuying or selling dreams a reality.
